Good evening,
During a trip "down southeast: a week ago, Brian Rapoza asked me about the status of Egyptian Goose in southeastern Florida. Brian informed me that there were LOTS more than I had realized. A look at the eBird map confirms Brian's assessment.
Long story short, I'm compiling observations of Egyptian Geese from southeastern Florida in Pam Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties, 1 Jan 2012-31 Dec? 2013. I already have all data from eBird, EDDMapS, the Miami Bird Board, and the FOS Field Observations Committee reports.
If you have seen Egyptian Geese in these three counties during the past two calendar years and HAVE NOT submitted the reports to the above four sources, I'd like to know about your sightings. (The names NOT IN the eBird database represent virtually every birder in the region, excepting Robin Diaz. Or, local birders don't see and/or report Egyptian Geese to eBird).
I need the precise data and location, the number of birds (including young, if any), and your full, real name. Lat/Long coordinates would be great; a Google Earth kmz file would be super-spiffy.
I'm looking at a timeline of maybe a couple weeks.
Thanks in advance for whatever data I receive.
Best regards,
Bill Pranty
