I had to pick up a part for my wife's car at a shop behind Barnes at 10:00, so I went early and birded the park. I parked by the LAC at sunrise and from the get go I could tell the park was birdy. The trees rith over my car had plenty of birds including the Chickadee. Jack and Bill soon showed up and we birded the area together. The nature trail didn't have much, but we found birds again in the figs near the workout deck and again at Homeless Hammock. The most abundant species here was Tennessee Warbler. I later found a Bay-breasted there as well. There was a Chestnut-sided with some rust on the flanks at Homeless and another with no rust in the ficus on the SE corner of the workout deck. Jack spotted my Bird-A-Day bird: a Rose-breasted Grosbeak at the old butterfly garden. A very nice morning.
