Sorry for the late post. Yesterday (Sunday) I found the Willow Flycatcher sill present at the same flagged spot near the speed bump at the annex. I arrived about 7:30am and as I walked up to the spot I could already hear it calling. I followed the calls around the thick shrubs for about 5 min without seeing the bird when suddenly it flew across the road, perched right in front of me in a fairly open spot, and called some more! I got a few photos and a decent audio recording of the "whit" calls. I'll post links to those ASAP. This bird has been present now for what, 2 months? Incredible.
I birded around the area for a little while but didn't find much else of note except for a Magnolia Warbler that must've busted through the Toe-dome and dropped in near the now closed yellow gate to the annex.
Later, I decided to make the drive up to Wakodahatchee and check out the cormorants. I found a nice Neotropic perched out on a limb on the first nesting island. I found another sitting on a nest on the southwestern nesting island, to the left side of the boardwalk, but much closer than the distant northwestern island with the telephone pole perch above it. I have photos of both birds. I also saw two that appeared to be likely NECOxDCCO hybrids with intermediate characterisitics.
