"What's in a name? That which we call a Bay-breasted by any other name would smell as sweet".

Got a text from Angel this afternoon that he had a Bay-breasted Warbler at A.D. Barnes. I went over there at about 5:00 and quickly found him. Angel, that is. We went over to the area near the fountain and fire pit where the bird had been seen but there was nothing. We then walked over to the LAC and I heard a soft buzzy chirp, and Angel quickly got on the bird. This is Bird-A-Day #291! With all my easy's used xept one, I've had to struggle to come up with a new bird each day. My bird for yesterday was a Whip-poor-will outside ENP at 11:35 pm. I've been lucky, my last 5 birds are:

Lilac-crowned Parrot 10/14
Swainson's Hawk 10/15
Tennessee Warbler 10/16
Eastern Whip-poor-will 10/17
Bay-breasted Warbler 10/18

Attached is a bad pic of the Swainson's Hawk. I was in a pinch and ran down to Lucky Hammock late in the afternoon hoping for one. I saw 3 birds in the sky, 2 Vultures and the one hawk. I'll be done in a day or two, but at least I'm not going down without a fight. They'll never take me alive! Bird-A-Day is a lot of fun. I encourage everyone to try it. Our theme for next year is really cool. More to come....

Thanks for the text Angel. As promised, I'm having a good libation in your honor: a Summit Unchained 09 Dunkelweizen, in a Stein of course.
