A short while ago a single male Painted Bunting stood on top of the green pole from which I had removed the feeder earlier. It sat quite a while looking right, then left, waiting for the seed feeder I guess. Then it flew about 20 feet away and discovered the caged feeder I just had placed there. At least it did not leave hungry. It sure is a beauty. The red on the breast/under parts is at maximum saturation. The yard has become peaceful once again. The grackles have moved on for now-----till tomorrow.
