I guess not every year is a fantastic year for migration. It seems that Winter birds have felt comfortable enough to return to their wintering grounds.
I visited Riverbend Park in Jupiter this weekend and had the following:
First Eastern Phoebe of the season (one)
Had a pair of Painted Buntings ( the male was finally right out in the open).
A male Indigo Buntings flew to the top of a tree ( see indigo vestiges on the wing and tail)
Lots of Common Yellowthroat
Many Grey Catbirds (Yes, Toe you were right in your previous report)
Had a couple of female American Kestrels
One juvenile Cooper's Hawk saying hello to the all the chicks out there.
Fast forwarding two days I had the FOS (First of Season) Green-winged Teal triplets today...GOT WINTER?
