Big flights of songbirds over the Middle Keys Oct 8 afternoon

Heads up. Between 2:15 and 2:50 pm Oct 8 we witnessed an incredible (conservative estimate) flight of 1320 migratory land birds (mostly warblers) flying NE to SE over Curry Hammock, in general direction towards Cuba at high altitudes. This included kingbirds, vireos, tanagers, orioles and other birds. That hour we also counted 114 Peregrine Falcons!!!

Amazingly, we were being forewarned by the Badbirdz duo (Angel and Mariel) about birds moving in our direction. We just could not imagine we would actually detect this movement during the late afternoon. Weather played a crucial role. Click the FKH link to learn more. Thank!!!!!!
