As seen from the recent reports, migrants are not only making their way to our area, but they are actually stopping here. There is a large system of clouds and rain, which looks like a pseudo tropical wave, extending from west of Yucatan to Cuba, and moving north into southern Florida. North of us the skies are clear and favorable for the birds to fly south. Conditions are looking real good for the next couple of days for us down here, so it's time to go out and look for those Golden-wings, Blackburnians, Chestnut-sideds Warblers, Yellow-bellied Flycatchers, Veeries, and more importantly, Scarlet/Western Tanager turned Baltimore/Orchard Orioles.

I am 2 migrants away from being guaranteed to make it to October in Bird-A-Day, so I'm hoping to get them this week. I got Prothonotary and Chestnut-sided Warblers this weekend, which were a big help. Still could use Golden-winged, Tennessee, Nashville, Blackburnian, Bay-breasted, Hooded, Canada, Wilson's, and the mega-rare warblers, plus Veery, Swainson's Thrush, R-B Grosbeak, Scarlet Tanager, among other stuff.

And NO, I won't be looking for them in my yard!
