Well, not exactly in Miami Shores, more like a half mile away. Two birds were seen this morning on my way to school from I-95. They were just south of the 95th street entrance, on the west side of the interstate. The birds were along the overgrown fence behind some stores/warehouses. I'm sure if someone were to park along the eastern side of NW 7 Avenue and about NW 93 street, they could see the birds. However, there is a disclaimer. This area is not the safest place to bird, if you catch my drift. If you just want to see some anis, go the extra twenty-five minutes to Ft. Lauderdale Airport.

A Northern Flicker also made an appearance to my yard this morning, a first for Miami Shores. And just like the Grasshopper Sparrow last week, it is a first for Miami aside from the flickers I've seen at Larry and Penny Thompson Park.

A Broad-winged Hawk posed nicely in my oaks as well this afternoon, and a Peregrine Falcon once again has set up territory on 79 street and NE 2 Avenue in Little Haiti. This is the third winter in a row that I have seen Peregrine Falcons regularly in that area.
