This morning a co-worker picked-up an Ovenbird she found as she walked into the building. It appeared injured, apparently from crashing into one of the glass windows, but didn't show any exterior injury. She put it in a small box and kept it at her desk and after a little while it seemed to recover fully, even trying to fly away at one point.

They asked me where to take it but I suggested taking it to a park near here that has some trees. If it's fine, it will fly on to where it was going. They took it to the park, placed it on the ground, and sure enough it flew off to the south.

Just then a Peregrine Falcon swooped down out of nowhere and picked it off with lighting speed. Amazing how fast these falcons are. Just another nice day of birding.

Good times.
