Simpson's stoppers (Myrcianthes fragrans) is a native shrub/tree that grows very fast. I have a hedge of this in my yard along the west side of my yard, along my chain length fence. The painted buntings love it! They hang out/hide in there when they are not at my feeders. I can help you with a source of these.
