Cape Florida is still closed. Today while doing volunteer work at the park, I noticed that many wintering species have returned. A surprise was American Robin, unusual for Key Biscayne. American Pipits and a few Bobolinks flew over early.

Wintering birds of interest: Cooper's Hawk, Broad-winged Hawk, American Kestrel, Peregrine Falcon, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Great Crested Flycatcher, Eastern Phoebe, House Wren, Grasshopper Sparrow (4) and Painted Bunting. Bay-breasted and Magnolia Warblers joined the usual wintering warblers. Whip-poor-will showed up recently and White-crowned Sparrows (2) were seen several days ago by other volunteers.
