There was a Prothonotary Warbler and a female Hooded Warbler at Jones Grade at the northeastern corner of Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park today. There were also singing Louisiana Waterthrushes and Northern Parulas, plenty of Ovenbirds, some Worm-eating Warblers, and a Black-and-white Warbler but no other migrants. I hiked the grade about 2.6 miles to the Main East Tram and water levels were high with water flowing over the grade at a few locations. The most daunting was the first which was over fifty yards across with a couple of spots that were about knee deep with a pretty strong current.
