This morning, Trey and I met at Kendall Indian Hammocks at 6:40 trying to locate the Hooded Warbler Brian found yesterday. We started at the east end of the hammock and worked our way west, with no luck. Trey mentioned seeing some dumpsters on the way in, so we went in that direction. Brian said he saw most of the birds near the dumpsters. No! They were ON the dumpsters! I mean, feeding around, over, under, through the three trash dumpsters at the very east end, close to the garbage truck station. Other homeless birds in the dumpsters included Palm, Redstart, Pewee, and Prairie Warblers. Pishing didn't work, so Trey did the call of a garbage truck backing-up (beep, beep, beep) and the birds came right out! Please, if you can spare a little change, these birds need our help. Thanks Brian.
