I found an interesting article in the online version of "The Condor", which can be viewed if you have Acrobat Reader or another pdf viewer, which talks about a study on a Norther Cardinal with "yellow" feathers.

: Post Wilma. My wife and I spotted a Yellow Cardinal in our back garden yesterday afternoon, same exact features as the red but yellow in colour and not the species Gubernatrix cristata from Argentina/ Uruguay.
: We have some digital images and vague video if anyone is interested.
