I had a couple hours to bird this morning and I spent most of the time looking, unsuccessfully, for Alder flycatcher on Browns Farm Road in Palm Beach county. At 0710, I stopped where the two high tension powerlines cross the road (26.493276,-80.462714) and immediately heard a Black rail calling east of the road in the Loxahatchee NWR. It (or others?) called off and on from several locations under the powerlines for about 20 minutes. This is the third time I've had Black rail in the cane fields and the second on Browns Farm Road.
