Green Cay yesterday I had a good close ID of a northern waterthrush at the alligator pond, first on a tree branch next to the boardwalk before heading down to the waterline. At the southeast corner of the long outer boardwalk trail were at least two solitary sandpipers, possibly a few more a little farther out. Yellow-throated warblers continue by the chickee hut tree stand, along with blue-grey gnatcatchers starting to fill in quite a bit. Barns wallows, purple martins continue over the open waters.

My house meanwhile is practically invaded by BG gnatcatchers in my black oaks - a dozen or more in my front yard each late morning...and my backyard is a barn swallow and purple martin gathering - a few dozen barn swallows swooping the yard just 10-15 feet off the pool, after the dragonflies and other bugs.
