The Willow Flycatcher was briefly seen on Saturday morning. Today we spent three hours waiting to get a look at the bird, it called on and off during that time. It was very difficult to get any kind of look at the bird as it stayed well hidden. Finally after three hours of waiting, my son and I got a pretty good look on the west side of the road. Alder Flycatchers were also present, they called and sang a few times while we were there. The Willow Flycatcher only called, we did not hear it sing. Also of note, was a high flying immature Mississippi Kite heading south.
