Standing next to my truck for cover Monday morning in West Kendall I was able to get a good look at an adult Pomarine Jaeger in basic plumage that was maintaining a semblance of control in the wind.
Good numbers of Frigates and Terns were also present. Somehow I didn't espy any Sootys but they must have been in some of the large high flying flocks. Most of the birds came through between 8 and 9 am. Other birds of note were Dowitcher sp., Tricolored Heron, and a Nighthawk sp. that landed in a neighbor's yard. Who knows what I missed, some were able to linger and afford good views, others blew by sideways. I can say I was extremely happy to see that Jaeger overhead.
