No. They are wintering here. They are here from late August/early September to April. They nest in southeast Georgia, northeast Florida
and with a small gap across to Texas. If you see a banded PB please let me know. Paul Sykes was banding some of the Florida/Georgia population
and we had some reports from Miami-Dade county a couple of years back. They prefer a type of millet which one ueded to be able to buy at the old(now closed) OK Feed Store in Coral Gables.

: I have 2 pairs of painted buntings at the feeder outside my window. I have never seen them here before and they are BEAUTIFUL! Are thy local?
