I met up with Brian at the Annex this morning and we searched together for migrants. At the Annex we only had 1 Prairie Warbler and a couple of Gnatcatchers (oops, there I go reporting Gnatcatchers!) There were tons of Barn Swallows all over, plus a couple of Bank, some Cliffs, and one or two Purple Martins. At Lucky Hammock there was nothing.

We then checked the fields just east of the C-111. In the first field to the north, we found a few Black-bellied Plovers in the distance. We then drove down a dirt road (SW 224 ave) to get a better look. Past the first white water tower, and just before 384 St., Brian spotted a different shorebird with the Plovers. We got out and scoped and sure enough it was a Buff-breasted. The whole flock flew just north of 384 St, which is another dirt road with some grass and some plowing blades next to it. We drove west on this road towards the levee and got excellent looks and a couple of photos of the Buff-breasted.

Not much in the way of migrants, but one good bird can make your day.
