I was able to see the Black-headed Gull with my wife and son today at about 1:00 p.m., also seen in the mixed flock of gulls was a first winter Franklin's Gull and several Lesser Black-backed Gulls. I remember when Lesser Black-backed Gull was a rare sighting in Florida, now they are so plentiful!! Pictures and directions can be found here on my website: http://www.southfloridabirding.com/html/recent_rarities..htm
I sure hope that Wilma is nice to South Florida and that any damage will be minor, I sure hope that these birds make it ok. I am sure getting tired of putting up the hurricane shutters, enough already!!! Excellent find Roberto!!!
