At 7:30 p.m. tonight, I observed seven (7) Swallow-tailed Kites circling, just south of Sterling Road and SW 148th Avenue at Marvin Lane. I observed the first pair of Swallow-tailed Kites on March 11th. Then on March 23rd another Swallow-tailed Kite joined the pair. After my posting, Wally George discoved a nest on Marvin Lane in a tall Pine. On April 28th, there were five Swallow-tailed Kites. Now there are seven of them. It is quite a sight! They are clearly visible from SW 148th Avenue, which has plenty of parking on the swale area. For directions, see my prior postings.
