Empids at the Annex

I found two empids this morning, one that most likely an Alder while the other was a calling Acadian. Things were completely dead until I heard a soft empid call that didn't seem like the typical "pip" call of the Alder, but wasn't the "whit" call of the willow either. I just checked my calls on Xeno Canto and verified the calling bird was an Acadian. It then flew into a ficus where I followed it briefly and got a bad photo, then there were two. The other bird was a definite Traill's type and is most likely an early Alder. Trey came over in hopes of getting some recordings but we didn't see or hear them again.

Other than the empids the only other migrants were two Redstarts and a Gnatcatcher. I found nothing else of interest between my house and the Annex, despite checking several places. This is the slowest start to fall migration I've ever seen.
