Funny thing. Dry Tortugas popped into my head as soon as I saw DRTO. Sometimes I have to stop and think what bird it is a reporter is talking about when I see the banding codes. Go figure. Anyway, I think birders ought to write out the full names of birds (and places) when reporting. Then if they want to, add the banding code in parenthesis, just for fun and in case anyone is interested. Bird on!
