I chased a loose flock of warblers around my property for about 20 minutes before lightning chased me indoors. I got 3 American Redstarts, a Black & White Warbler and 5 Blue-gray Gnatcatchers and 3 unknown warbler-types. Maybe migration is starting at my house.
Yesterday a Coopers Hawk nailed one of my Blue Jays. It pinned it to the ground and when I came out to see what all the noise was about, it flew from the ground with the jay in it's talons. There were about 5 other jays screaming their distress call all around the hawk. Now all my "feeder birds" are real skittish.
