Thanks for the link! This is a very interesting and enlightening study of visual dowitcher identification in all plumages and the sections about loral angle, supercilium arch, and bill shape are useful throughout the year. After looking at the loral angle and bill shape on the bird in my photograph I am convinced that this bird is a Short-billed Dowitcher. I recommend that anyone interested in improving their dowitcher identification skills take a close look at this article.
