Went out today at 2 PM. Strong winds from the east, high temps, skeeters, fire ants, distance, heat shimmer, and tall vegetation made the birding less than ideal. Never-the-less, the birds are there. The single cow pasture between the new developments on the north side of the road is flooded, with shorebirds concentrated around the southern aspect. Waders were abundant, as well as a single White Pelican.
