A group of 33 terrific birders participated in today's walk at A.D. Barnes Park. It was great to see both new and familiar faces, as well as birders we haven't seen in a while. Young (and younger) talent was on hand to help. Special thanks to Gigi, Susan and John for generously sharing field guides and knowledge with new birders.

Birding wasn't quite as dynamic as hoped for, but the 50 species were seen well by all. We scraped together 15 warbler species, including Tennesee, Magnolia, Chestnut-sided, Black-throated Blue, Black-throated Green (2-3), Yellow-throated, and Blackpoll (2).

Other birds of interest: Cooper's Hawk, American Kestrel, Peregrine Falcon, White-crowned Pigeon, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Great Crested Flycatcher, Gray Catbird, Red-eyed and Yellow-throated Vireo, Scarlet Tanager and Spot-breasted Oriole. Psittacids were represented by Orange-winged and Blue-fronted Parrots, Red-masked, Mitred and Yellow-chevroned Parakeets.
