We looked for shorebirds today mostly along Browns Farm Road although there were a lot of Black-necked Stilts and Lesser Yellowlegs at the King Ranch on RT 27.
Along Browns Farm (off 880) there was one flooded area with the Stilt Sandpipers (90), Long-billed Dowitchers (50), and Lesser Yellowlegs (80) having the highest numbers. We also observed Black-necked Stilts (30), Least Sandpiper (8), Semipalmated Sandpiper (1), Greater Yellowlegs (10) and several Killdeer.
Non-shorebirds included 2 Fulvous Whistling Ducks, 1 Blue-winged Teal, 1 Least Bittern, and 1 Cave Swallow perched with several Barns. Common Nighthawks were perched on the wires.
There also were 2 Black-bellied Whistling Ducks at Gladeview Road.
