Kevin, you bring back old memories. The disappearance, or population decline of once-common Eastern breeders like Upland Sandpiper, Bewick's Wren, Henslow's Sparrow, Dickcissel and Bobolink was a phenomenon of my childhood. It's good to know that the Uppie's mournful whistle can still be heard in Maine.
