You were there too early. Most the birds just got here this past weekend, and we still haven't seen the first big push. The last couple of years we've seen fewer fields up there with the right conditions, and last year some of the better ones were inaccessible.

This afternoon I found the field on 256 St. almost dry, but it still had a couple of birds. The birds seemed to have moved inside the landfill property. The same cast of characters was there plus a Solitary Sandpiper, which is the first one I see this fall.

I also noticed an increase in swallows, but only Barn so far.
