Hi Holly,
Mariel and I have been monitoring a large Purple Martin roost for the last four to five years in the Miami Lakes/Hialeah area. The roost is definitely a sight to see with martins dropping out of the skies for 20-30 minutes as they fill the trees in the parking lot to the max. The roost is located at NW 57 Ave. & NW 163 St. Look for the martins coming to roost in the trees of the bank parking lot. There is also a Gold's Gym at this location. Be at the location around 7:45pm and spend the next hour being mesmerized by the sheer awesomeness of thousands of martins coming in to roost. We have not estimated the number of martins this year, but last year an estimated 35K+ martins were using this roost.

Nature is Awesome
