This afternoon, Felipe Guajardo and I birded the service road between Snapper Creek Road and Matheson Hammock, and Pinecrest Gardens (home of the old Parrot Jungle).
At the Matheson Hammock service road, we had a soaring Peregrine Falcon along with an early Turkey Vulture, Brown Thrasher, Ovenbirds, Common Yellowthroats, and four Blue Grosbeaks! The grosbeaks were at the western most part of the grassy area.
Pinecrest Gardens was productive, with Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Pileated Woodpecker, Red-eyed Vireos, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Tennesee, Yellow-throated, Cape May, and Black-throated Blue Warblers, American Redstart, and Ovenbirds.
On the way back along US-1, I saw Merlin, White-crowned Pigeons, Red-masked Parakeets, and Eastern Kingbirds.
