There are some birds like that which I remember quite commonly when I was a kid growing up down here - Bobwhites were all around when I first moved to Florida, living in what's now known as 'West Boca' (there was no Logger's Run or Mission Bay back then - we were in the woods)...that Bobwhite call was common, as were the sounds of whippoorwills at night. And fireflies littered the fields behind my house. Sad to think all those were once common and now rarely found down here.
