When I checked the guide I felt that the skipper that we saw and you pictured was a Brazilian Skipper. Thanks to your photo we can confirm that it is a Brazilian Skipper,Calpodes ethlius.

It is found in swamp edges and wet sloughs where it's host plant Aligator flag is abundant.

Thanks for all the great photos. You bring the TAS walks alive to all who were not able to be there. Also Thanks to Brian for leading this wonderful TAS fieldtrip.
