With my old boat getting repaired, and the new boat not ready, I was worried we wouldn't be able to get out during June. We finally got the chance when I asked an old commercial fishing friend out of the river if he'd take a group of us out and he said sure. Rangel, Paul, Vern, Trey and myself joined Capt. Juan aboard his boat. As luck would have it, we approached an edge in 500 to 600 feet of water and quickly had a couple of Audubon's Shearwaters, Bridled Terns, and a Parasitic Jaeger. We figured this is the place and spent the morning drifting and chumming along this edge. This proved to be the right move since we got all we expected and more. Thanks to the crew for coming along and to Capt. Juan for taking us on a birding trip. I think even Capt. Juan had a good time. We called it quits at 10:45 and headed in with a very respectable list of birds:

Cory's Shearwater - 2
Audubon's Shearwater - 5
Wilson's Storm-Petrel - 2
Band-rumped Storm-Petrel - 1
Magnificent Frigatebird - 2
Parasitic Jaeger - 1
Brown Noddy - 1
Sooty Tern - 2
Bridled Tern - 12
