Compared to 2004, this fall's Key Biscayne/Virginia Key NAMC was slow both in quantity and diversity. The 12 warbler species saved a lackluster count. Flycatchers were conspicuously absent from my count area.

Warbler highlights: Golden-winged Warbler (male in same tree where I found it Thursday), 2 Prothonotary Warblers (1 in VA Key and Liz Golden had 1 in Cape Florida), Hooded Warbler and 45 Ovenbirds.

Others: FOS Broad-winged Hawk, 6 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, Yellow-throated Vireo, Cliff Swallow and Baltimore Oriole.
