It has been at Matheson steadily for at least the last 2 months-see my earlier posts. Judd Patterson was photographing the mangrove cuckoos there and after I finished bonefishing on Saturday and Sunday we heard it moving from tree to tree on the water.Sometimes it will sing continuously for an hour, sometimes intermittently and sometimes will disappear for a few hours at a stretch. It covers a lot of ground when moving among the trees. It can be heard at pretty much any hour of the day-you just must abide its whims, and is an easier binocular than long lens target. If you go at dead low tide, the best views can be gotten walking on the exposed flat and looking into the trees as it tends to move between the trees over the water, rather than trying to see it from the road , --bring your get wet shoes.
