Just returned from Tropical Audubon's Northern New England birding tour. We tallied 140 species, including 20 warblers. Highlights included Northern Goshawk, Bicknell's Thrush, Boreal Chickadee and a momma bear with three cubs on Mt. Washington, lots of Philadelphia Vireos at Grafton Notch State Park, Bay-breasted Warbler and three moose (including a bull) in and around Baxter State Park, a dust-bathing Spruce Grouse at Quoddy Head State Park, hundreds of Atlantic Puffins, Razorbills and Common Murres plus a Gray Seal among the many Harbor Seals at Machias Seal Island and a Peregrine Falcon with chicks plus a heard-only Black-backed Woodpecker in and around Acadia National Park. A full trip report will be posted later.
