The last week at school I have had some fairly good birds. During lunch a fly over Short-tailed Hawk (white phase) made a brief appearance, my third STHA of the fall. A Black-whiskered Vireo was heard earlier in the morning on Thursday at the back of the school, and I managed to track it down after cross country practice. A Yellow-throated Warbler has been present all week.

Yesterday at Tropical Park during a cross country meet, I witnessed along with some team mates a female Cooper's Hawk chase then catch a Mourning Dove in mid-air. I was surprised to see several White-winged Parakeets along with the Yellow-chevroneds. And two Chesnut-fronted Macaws appear to have a nest in a dead Royal Palm in front of McDonald's along Bird Road across from the Tropical Park entrance.

Now if you'll excuss me, I have some NAMCing to do.
