I don't know, but the bird is banded (so it has been handled) and it acts normally and seems healthy. Robin sent the photos to a freind that may be able to find out something about this bird.

Robin pointed out the deformity to me and I sent her other photos of the bird that show the entire lower bill is broken or deformed.
I had noticed something didn't look right, but was in a hurry when I posted the photo.
