I don't know if these are still needed for the June challenge, but there was a Brown-headed Nuthatch on Research Road this morning, and then a small flock of them at Long Pine Key.The first part of the morning was beautiful - especially the sunrise around 6:15 a.m.The field around Lucky Hammock had Bobwhites calling. Royal Palm had a Northern Parula calling very loudly from the trees in the parking lot plus White-eyed Vireos and a Black-whiskered Vireo. In addition to all the Nuthatches in Long Pine Key, a wonderful sight was 5 Swallow-tailed Kites gliding by overhead.A nice morning birding until the rain started at Paurotis Pond and continued all the way down to Flamingo!

One more possible addition to the June challenge is Brown Pelican. Don't know if it's on the list, but after checking my notes, there was one on June 1st by the edge of the lake next to Cutler Wetlands.
