I know that Gray Kingbirds are not that unusual in South Florida. I have seen them in many instances but never had a chance to see and admire its hidden orange crown patch until yesterday. I find it a nice contrast a bright orange crown on a dark gray head. Found by the Lantana Beach area in Palm Beach County. He did show who's the true King... I also had a Burrowing Owl at the FAU Boca campus and a parent Limpkin serving its chick a gigantic apple snail at Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge...let them eat escargot! Otherwise, the resident Florida birds busy raising their chick around the county.
