As I was driving North on CR-905 this morning, I counted 83 Chuck-will's-widows sitting on/by, flying over, or perching near the road. These were all between the divergence of US-1 and 905 in Key Largo in the South and Ocean Reef Club in the North, between 0615 and 0645. As cool as that was, I think the highlight of my morning was the Coral Snake I found crossing the road, my first for NA. I also saw a Crocodile up on Card Sound Road, at the south end where the flamingo was reported ealier. I didn't see the flamingo. Other birds of note were a flock of about 15-20 Baltimore Orioles and a "Traill's" Flycatcher that refused to vocalize, or maybe I just couldn't hear it over the whine of the mosquitoes, they were really bad. The orioles and the empid were in the Gulfstream Shores neighborhood.
