Early this morning Miami Shores was a little slow. I only had Eastern Kingbirds, Red-eyed Vireos, four warbler species (Prairie, Yellow-throated, American Redstart, Ovenbird), and thirteen Bobolinks.
At 10:00 pm tonight I went out into the front to listen for nocturnal flights calls. I heard a couple warblers and the clear "bink" call of the Bobolink. The nocturnal listening was cut short when I noticed I was being watched from the shadows by two boys not far away, and I decided it was time to head inside.
The Bobolinks have been the most commonly heard birds the last three nights of listening.
