Hi Steve,
Google Earth displays coordinates in four different formats, so there's no need to convert one format to another before inputting into Google Earth.
Go to Tools, then Options, select which format to display is Show Lat/Long. Decimal degrees are becoming popular because you don't need to type in quotation marks for minutes and seconds.
