Plenty of downed trees and limbs on roads and trails in Kendall Indian Hammock Park. Seen today from 8:30-9:30 AM were the following:

Eurasian Collared-Dove-1
Mourning Dove-2
Monk Parakeet-2
Red-bellied Woodpecker-1
Great Crested Flycatcher-1
Red-eyed Vireo-2
Blue Jay-1
Barn Swallow-2
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher-many
Northern Mockingbird-1
Northern Parula-2
Prairie Warbler-2
Black-and-white Warbler-4
American Redstart-2
Ovenbird-1
Northern Cardinal-many

I planned to stay longer, but was stopped by a park employee who informed me that the park was officially closed for post-Katrina cleanup, and that for my own safety I should not be there. "You're swimming in a pool without a lifeguard", he said. "But I'm a certified lifeguard", I thought to myself as I headed back to my car.
