The facts: Back by popular demand, the Antillian nighthawks are back at Taster's restaurant, Tavernier, Florida Keys. (MM 91.2 Bayside).

The Zen of Antillean Nighhawks. There is a school of thought that says one should suffer to see rare birds. So, go to the airport at Marathon and sit at the picnic table and wait and wait... the bird there was calling at 5pm yesterday, which is early.

Those of us who live in the Keys are deep into Hedonism. You poor b@#$@$#s who live up north i.e. above MM 108 can suffer, but we believe in enjoying our birding experiences. Taster's is the best restaurant in the Upper Keys, great food. So grab a nice glass of wine and enjoy this wonderful bird, showing off, comparing itself to the Common Nighthawk. Understand that you do not need to suffer to enjoy birds. Yes, I know this is radical, shocking in its way.
