Four Juvenile Smooth-billed Anis

At about 6:45 this afternoon there were four juvenile Smooth-billed Anis on the fence along the Ft. Lauderdale International Airport perimeter road across from the Airport Greenbelt Park about a hundred yards east of the park parking lot. They were being tended by two adults. The young birds were only a little smaller than the adults with nearly fully grown tails so they have probably been out of the nest for weeks. During two previous stops there this week the adults appeared to be bringing food to young birds that were staying well concealed in dense cover.
